Last night I passed out doing the blog and slept until 7:30. I'm sure it's gibberish. I didn't get out the door until after 8:30. Jeanne and Francisco were long gone.
The route today was largely through vineyards along dirt farm paths. They were very muddy and even though the was no rain my feet were quickly soaked. I started switching socks every time I thought I was getting to a dry section.
Jeanne and Francisco messaged they were at a bar at the 12km point. They were sunning and drying when I got there. I had a sandwich and a coffee and aired my feet. I put a Compeed on my blister. I think it had ripped coming up the hill into town.
We walked together through some really muddy stuff. We all got soaked feet. Well, except for Francisco who had gortex shoes. I guess this is a good case for them. My feet were wet and I needed to change socks. They went ahead when I changed and then forgot my socks. I realized I forgot my socks over half a k later when my feet got wet and I thought I could change socks ... shit! I walked back and got even wetter.
I changed socks again and thought I would not see J&F until dinner. They were relaxing at the next town. We walked together into Golega for 7.5km on a road with no space to walk off the pavement and many really fast cars that seemed very annoyed they had to move to the center a bit. Very few slowed at all. It was a little scary.
I'm town we split up, did our things at our respective places and met for dinner. Both Jeanne and Francisco were the only occupants of there Pilgrim accomodations. They were told nobody has been through for a few days. That means there are no Pilgrims ahead of us and we are stuck with each other.
Dinner was good.
