Up early. Met Francisco and Jeanne in the hall for machine coffee. We then walked about 6 blocks for coffee and churros.
We walk out of Vigo which in this direction was a fairly pretty city. Soon we started climbing. We were looking for the 100km marker but it would have been in an urban area and I'm sure they did not place one to stop the pilgrims from leaving thing and having a party.
At the first marker we came to Jeanne threw a party.
Along the high ridge we were walking there was a single coffee stop with a very nice proprietor but a bit over priced, not great coffee.
We took a short cut or two but it was a long day. In Arcade we got some food. Prices are suddenly a little higher. The last 100km draws a lot of Pilgrims and prices reflect this. I hate the places with old timey Pilgrim silhouettes pointing to expensive, bad coffee. Sorry, if you have one of those but you have good coffee.
Out of Arcade we took the main road to save a few kilometers. This wasn't bad until the busy road turned into a freeway and we had to run across lanes at an exchange to get off it. A little bushwhacking and we were parallel to the Camino on a quiet road. Just after a surprise coffee bar we rejoined the Camino all the way to the hotel.
The last 7km felt like that took forever. We were walking at a super fast pace but it felt like we were not getting closer. Finally, we rounded a corner and Mike was sitting at a table with beer for us. Nope, he had beer for himself and nothing for us.
A long walk ended at 38km and it was after 5pm some beers were had. After showers we had a nice dinner. Good food!
Tomorrow we get a bit of a sleep in with an 8:30am coffee meet up and a 21km day!
